Archos 101 G9

Archos has announced that it will offer the Archos 80 and Archos 101 G9  Turbo tablets in time for Christmas. These are new versions of the 8 and 10 inch Android tablets which will have 1.5 GHz dual core processors. Up until now only 1 GHz and 1.2 Ghz models have been available.

Prices will run € 350 or less in Europe. There’s no official word on US pricing or availability yet.

The Archos 80 and 101 G9 are the first tablets from Archos to feature Google Android 3.2 Honeycomb and the official Google Android Market, as well as custom multimedia apps designed by Archos. The company plans to release Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates early next year.

  1. When it comes to Archos, it’s all about the announcement, not the delivery.  Smart potential buyers won’t buy until they actually deliver.  It wouldn’t be the first time that Archos has announced a software update only to fail to deliver it.
