Toshiba Thrive

Toshiba has released a software update for the Toshiba Thrive which brings Google Android 3.2 to the 10 inch tablet.

Android 3.2 is designed to run on tablets with multiple screen sizes and resolutions — but the key improvement that most people will notice when upgrading from Android 3.1 is that apps designed for smartphones will look better on a 10 inch tablet screen thanks to a new compatibility/zoom mode.

The software update is also designed to improve screen rotation on the Thrive tablet.

Toshiba warns that the YouTube app and Android Market icons may disappear from your home screen after installing the update, but they should still be available from the Android app drawer so you can always add them to the home screen again manually.

You can check for the software update by firing up the Toshiba Service Station utility on a Thrive tablet.
