The good news is that TigerDirect apparently managed to get some more HP TouchPad tablets and they’re available for sale.

The bad new is you’re going to have to spend at least $299.99 to get your hands on one.

HP discontinued the TouchPad tablet this summer when the company decided to cancel all of its webOS hardware products including smartphones and tablets. The company still hasn’t really figured out what to do with the webOS software. HP paid $1.2 billion to acquire Palm last year in order to gets its hands on the technology, but it’s not clear if the company plans to cut its losses or move ahead.

In the meantime, the HP TouchPad became a bit of a success story this summer when HP liquidated the remaining inventory at prices as low as $99. While some customers are happy with their dirt cheap 10 inch tablets running webOS, others have figured out how to install Ubuntu Linux or Google Android on the tablets.

Over the past few weeks a handful of stores have managed to get a small number of tablets in stock, and they’ve been sold at fire-sale pricing… but typically only to customers that purchased some sort of a bundle which drove up the actual cost.

The new TigerDirect deal is no different. You can either buy an HP TouchPad outright for $299.99 or you can purchase an HP laptop or desktop computer and throw a TouchPad into your cart at the same time. If you go the bundle route the tablet still costs  $299.99, but there’s a $149.99 mail-in rebate, which cuts the price in half.

TigerDirect is offering a TouchPad model with 32GB of storage, a 9.7 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display, and webOS 3.0 operating system.

If you’re thinking of spending nearly $300 though, you should know that TigerDirect isn’t the only retailer with TouchPads at that price. You can also pick up a new tablet from Amazon for $294.50, and many Amazon Marketplace sellers are offering even better prices.
