Lenovo 5 inch tablet

Lenovo already offers Android tablets with 10 inch and 7 inch displays. So what’s next for the Chinese company? Apparently 5 inch displays.

Engadget has posted photos of a device that’s said to be an upcoming 5 inch tablet from Lenovo. It’s not clear if it will function as a phone as well as a tablet like 5 inch offerings from Dell and Samsung — although that speaker near the top sure looks like a phone speaker.

What we do know at this point is that the little device will have a microUSB port, a micro HDMI port, and a front-facing camera. It’s also going to be much easier to slide into your pocket than the Lenovo IdeaPad A1 7 inch tablet or IdeaPad K1 10 inch tablet.

Engadget reports that the 5 inch model will be sold in China under the LePad brand name, while it will be dubbed an IdeaTab in other countries.

  1. “although that speaker near the top sure looks like a phone speaker.”

As does the speaker at the top of the Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 5.0, and works like one when used with the right app.

  2. Thank you, Lenovo, for illustrating that difference between yesterday’s “PDA” and today’s tablet is the mental illness of contemportary typical electronics consumers.  Thank you, marketing departments and complicit types everywhere, for filling the vacuum of ignorance with the indomitable power of delusion.
