The Vizio Tablet was the first big-name Android tablet to support the Hulu Plus online video application. Now it also works with Netflix, which makes the tablet a pretty great option for those in supported countries looking to stream TV shows and movies from two of the biggest players in the online video space.
Of course, you’ll need to sign up for $7.99 per month subscriptions with each service in order to actually stream video from either Hulu or Netflix. But if you download and install the V.I.A. Plus 1.3 software update on the tablet you should get some security updates and performance improvements in addition to support for Netflix video.
The tablet features an 8 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display, a 1 GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 2GB of user-available storage. The tablet has a custom user interface built on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it’s designed to work both as a standalone tablet and as a media companion — allowing you to connect to Vizio TV or other device with Google TV software to use the tablet as a remote control or send apps or videos from the tablet to a TV.
The Vizio Tablet sells for about $270.
