The US launch plans for the Samsung Galaxy Note remain unclear. But Samsung has announced that the Android smartphone/tablet with a 5.3 inch display will go on sale in the UK starting November 17th.

The Galaxy Note is an unusual device which blurs the lines between a phone and a tablet. Like a phone it can fit into a pocket (assuming you’re wearing men’s pants) and you can use the device to make the calls or surf the web with a mobile broadband connection. But like a tablet it has a high resolution 1280 x 800 pixel display. The 5.3 inch screen also pushes the boundaries of a device that you can comfortably hold up to your face while making a call.

The device has a Super AMOLED display and a capacitive touchscreen for multitouch finger input. But it also features a digital pen for drawing or writing on the screen. The Galaxy Note also features a 1.4 GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, and Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has a 2500mAh battery and weighs about 6 ounces.
