There’s no shortage of inexpensive Android tablets from China, but the LY-F526 from Shenzhen Lingyunxianfeng actually looks surprisingly good for a tablet that could likely sell for under $200.

The tablet has a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor, PowerVR graphics, 1080p HD video playback support, 512MB of RAM, and between 4GB and 16GB of storage. It also has a full-sized USB 2.0 port and full-sized HDMI port and a capacitive touchscreen.

The LY-F526 supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and has a 1,3MP camera. It has a4500mAh battery.

You also get native support for MKV, Xvid, H.264, and other video formats as well as MP3, WMA, FLAC, OGG, and WAV audio.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that the 7 inch display has a low resolution of just 800 x 480 pixels and the tablet runs Google Android 2.2 Froyo, which is a few generations behind the latest tablet operating systems from Google.

The LY-F526 is available from Alibaba for $140 and up… but that’s the price for distributors or resellers. You’ll need to place a sample order for at least 5 units to get that price. There’s no word on whether this particular tablet will ever show up in the US, but if it does, it will likely have a different brand name.

  1. Dang, I’ve commented before about that low of a screen rez…  Otherwise this does look pretty decent.  Oh well.

    1. Yup, I feel like we’re getting to the point where crappy screens are one of the only things setting cheap Chinese tablets apart from decent models from top tier vendors… well, that, and higher quality processors, but some of these VIA and Rockchip CPUs aren’t all that bad really.
