Sharp hasn’t yet brought an Android tablet to market in the US, but the company is on a roll with Japanese tablets. First Sharp introduced the Galapagos line of 5.5 inch and 10.8 inch tablets, and then the company followed up with a 7 inch model called the Galapagos A01SH earlier this month.
Now Sharp is introducing a new 7 inch model called the Sharp RW-T107. It runs Google Android 2.3, comes with the Android Market, and features a 5400mAh, 8 hour battery. The tablet will also have an NFC (Near Field Communications) chip which can be used to transfer money or other information over a short distance to other NFC-enabled devices.
There’s no information about the processor, screen resolution, or other features, but the tablet appears to have a SIM card slot, HDMI port, and headphone jack. It’s due out in Japan on September 5th.
