HP TouchPad Go

HP and AT&T plan to offer a version of the HP TouchPad tablet with an HSPA+ 4G radio soon. It’s already available for pre-order  for $699.99, although I suspect you may be able to find a better price if you wait. AT&T may subsidize the tablet price if you sign up for a long-term contract, and HP has just lowered the price of the WiFi-only model.

Today the new version of the TouchPad showed up at the FCC website. Apparently it will be called the HP TouchPad Go and it will have a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, GPS, and a choice of 16GB of 32GB of storage.

In Europe it looks like the TouchPad Go will be the name of a 3G model.

The FCC listing doesn’t provide many additional details, but all consumer electronics with wireless communications components have to pass through the FCC before they can be sold in the US, so today’s listing brings the TouchPad Go one step closer.

Update: It looks like this may not just be the 4G model of the HP TouchPad. It could be a 7 inch model with 4G wireless capabilities. The image taken from the FCC website shows a 2 inch label — which means that the tablet is a little over 6 inches tall. Some folks WebOS Roundup did a little math and figured the screen could be about 7.3 inches.
