Update: The S3 is official… and it has a 13 inch display. There doesn’t appear to be an 11.6 inch model.Â
Acer is getting ready to jump on the ultrabook bandwagon with at least two thin, light, and relatively affordable notebooks. We’ve already seen some hands-on photos of the company’s new 13 inch ultrabook, and now an Italian retailer appears to have jumped the gun by posting a product page for an Acer Ultrabook S3.
The specs have been removed, but not before Netbook News.it jotted them down:
- 13.3 inch display
- Intel Core i5-2467M processor
- 4GB of RAM
- 320GB hard drive
- 20GB SSD
- 13mm (0.5 inches) thick
- € 786.19 price tag
While the European price would be the equivalent of $1134 US, it’s likely that this 13 inch notebook will sell for less if and when it’s released in the US.
Acer also appears to be preparing an 11 inch ultrabook as part of its new Aspire S series. The IFA trade show kicks off in Berlin in a few days, and Notebook Italia got a sneak peek at the booth which has graphics showing the Ultrabook S3 alongside a smaller notebook which will likely have an 11.6 inch display.
