The latest Android tablets from Motorola, Samsung, Asus, and others are already setting a high bar for high-resolution displays. Most tablets designed to run Google Android 3.x Honeycomb feature 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel screens. But now it looks like the company may be working on a next generation tablet with an even higher resolution display.
The new device is rumored to have a 2048 x 1536 pixel display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It’s also expected to run Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich, the next major version of Android — and the first designed to run on both smartphones and on tablets.
According to the rumor, the next-gen Motorola tablet will be thinner than the current Motorola XOOM. There’s no word on what kind of processor, storage, or other specs will grace the tablet.
