You know those WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets that go on sale next week in New York? It turns out they won’t be the only models up for order. Verizon has announced it will begin taking pre-orders for a 4G LTE model on June 8th.
Update: The tablet is now available for purchase for $529.99 and up with a 2-year contract, or $629.99 without.
There’s no word on the actual ship date yet. Verizon simply says it will be available “in coming weeks.”
Verizon will charge $529.99 for a 16GB tablet or $629.99 for a 32GB model. That’s about $100 cheaper than the 3G Apple iPad, and that tablet doesn’t currently support Verizon’s faster 4G data network.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab features a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and runs Google Android 3.1.
