Sprint will be one of the first wireless carriers to offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablet. It will be available online and through direct sales starting Friday June 24th. It will be available in-stores on July 24th. There’s just one catch: this is the same WiFi-only tablet you can already buy from a number of other retailers.
The tablet is also selling for the same price at Sprint as it is through other channels. The 10 inch tablet with 16GB of storage will run $499.99.
Sprint will offer the tablet with a 3G/4G mobile wireless hotspot, but it’s not clear from the press release if the mobile hotspot is included in the price. It’s possible that the wireless carrier could throw in the modem for free for customers who sign up fo ra long term service contract.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, and Google Android 3.1 operating system. It measures 0.34 inches thick and weighs about 1.25 pounds.
