Mobile hardware is cool and all, but you know what’s really cool? Software. Here’s a roundup of some of the coolest mobile apps we’ve covered at Mobiputing over the last 7 days:

  • DualWeb Browser for Android tabelts lets you view two web pages at once
Sure, the nice big screen on your Honeycomb tablet is great for viewing web pages… but it’s also big enough to view two web pages at once… if only there was a browser that supported that option. Oh wait. There is!
  • Crackle comes to Android, brings along free movies
Sony has launched an updated version of Crackle for Android phones and tablets, offering free ad-supported feature films and TV shows including Ghostbusters and Seinfeld.
  • Sync your Opera browser bookmarks with Windows Phone 7
You like the underdog. Firefox, Chrome, IE? Who needs them. You’re an Opera browser loyalist. And just to show that you’re willing to go against the flow, you’re a Windows Phone 7 user to boot. Now you can keep your browser bookmarks in sync.
  • Sony launches Qriocity Music Unlimited app for Android
Sony’s Qriocity music service takes on the likes of Rhapsody, MOG, Rdio, and Slacker. For $9.99 you can stream 7-million songs to your phone (not all at once). There’s also a 30 day free trial.
  • How to downgrade from iOS 5 beta
Say you’ve decided to give this whole iOS 5 beta thing a try so you can check out the split-screen iPad keyboard or the new drop-down iPhone notification panel… but you’d kind of like to go back to iOS 4.3.3. Now you can.
  • Swype 3.0 beta Android keyboard adds support for tablets
Lifting your fingers to type is so old school. Swype uses predictive text to let you drag your finger from one letter to the next. Previous builds were only available for Android smartphones, but now Swype 3.0 beta is available for tablets as well.
