HP TouchPad

The HP TouchPad tablet goes on sale in the US tomorrow. But UK residents won’t need to buy a plane ticket to get one… they’ll just have to wait another two weeks. HP has announced the tablet will go on sale across the pond on July 15th.

UK retailers including PC World, Amazon, and Carphone Warehouse will offer the 16GB model of the tablet for £399. If you want 32GB of storage space you’ll need to spend £479. That’s the equivalent of about $640 to $770 US, but the US versions will be much cheaper at $499 and $599.

The HP TouchPad has gotten mixed reviews, at best so far. I don’t mean that some people love it and others hate it. I mean, nearly every review considers the TouchPad to be a really interesting concept with a couple of really cool features — but one which just doesn’t work as well as other tablets yet. But if you’re not the sort of person swayed by reviews, it looks like you’ll be able to get your hands on the first tablet to run webOS 3.0 pretty soon.
