Motorola XOOM

Hackers have been installing rooting the Motorola XOOM and installing custom kernels with support for overclocking for months. But now the first cooked ROM is available for the tablet, offering a complete replacement for the firmware that ships with the XOOM.

The Tiamat XOOM ROM 1.0 is pre-rooted and provides a number of featues out of the box including:

  • SU, superuser and busybox
  • SMS capabilities
  • USB mass storage
  • WiFi Ad-Hoc mode
  • A browser hack that will display full desktop views of web pages by default

The ROM also comes with a couple of apps preloaded including Adobe Flash Player and a file explorer.

The software is based on the firmware from the Verizon 3G  version of the Motorola tablet, but it should work on the WiFi version as well.
