The Asus Eee PC 1015PN is one of the most powerful 10 inch netbooks around, featuring a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor and NVIDIA ION 2 graphics.
Of course, powerful is a relative term. The mini-notebook has a 1024 x 600 pixel display, just 1GB of RAM, and that Atom N550 chip isnt’ going to break any land speed records. But if you’re looking for a netbook that can handle some light gaming or 1080p HD video playback you could certainly do worse than this little guy which normally runs around $350 to $400.
Today Newegg is sweetening the deal a bit by offering the Eee PC 1015PN for $309.99 + free shipping. That’s not the lowest price I’ve seen for this netbook, but it’s still pretty good — and it’s not much more than the price of most brand new netbooks with single core chips and Intel graphics.
Good catch–I need to point out the the $300 price Amazon offers for this is delivered by Tiger Direct, who charge a variable amount for shipping and handling.
The slightly faster N570-based 1015PX has has a street price of $320 (free shipping) for about a month now at Amazon and B&H Photo.
The low-end N455-based netbooks with 3-cell batteries cost about $240 or $250 (sometimes as low as $200 new): https://set.tj/+kep8
