If you’re interested in picking up a Chromebook but don’t feel like spending $430 or more for a Samsung Series 5 it looks like you may have to wait a little longer. Acer’s AC700 Chromebook which was originally scheduled to ship for $350 on June 15th has been delayed. While we had originally heard the Chrome OS laptop would be available by the end of June, Amazon seems to think differently.
According to the product pages at Amazon.com, the WiFi-only model of the Acer AC700 will ship in mid-July for $349.99. The 3G model will be available in mid-August for $429.99.
The Acer AC700 features a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core processor, an 11.6 inch display, and HDMI output. It weighs 3.2 pounds. The 3G model will come with 100MB of Verizon 3G data per month for two years.
