ZiiLABS is showing off two new tablet designs based on the company’s latest ZMS-20 and ZMS-40 1.5 GHz dual and quad-core chips. The new ZiiLABS JAGUAR tablets come in 7 and 10 inch sizes and can run Google Android 3.x Honeycomb. The company is positioning the tablets as OEM or designs, which means you probably won’t walk into a store and pick up anything called a ZiiLABS JAGUAR tablet anytime soon. But you may eventually be able to find a tablet sold under a different brand name which has JAGUAR guts.
The 7 inch model will feature a 1024 x 600 pixel display while the 10 inch model will have a higher resolution 1280 x 800 pixel display. The reference platform can handle capacitive or resistive displays and either dual or quad core ARM Cortex-A9 chips with 48 or 96 core floating point StemCell media processors for 3D graphics and HD video.
The platform supports up to 2GB of memory, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 3G, 4G, and Bluetooth connectivity, and up to 64GB of storage. Both tablets have 5MP rear cameras and HD front-facing cameras.
ZiiLABS will show off the platform at the Computex trade show in Taiwan next week.
