Samsung is continuing to show off the 10 inch Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet while promising that the WiFi version of the tablet will go on sale in the US on June 8th. SlashGear got to spend some time with the tablet on the eve of the Google I/O event last night, and IntoMobile confirmed that the tablet was on scheduled to ship on June 8th, as promised.
Samsung has also posted a registration page for users to sign up to receive more information about availability.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will feature a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and Google Android 3.0 operating system as well as Samsung’s TouchWiz 4.0 software. Initially Samsung said that a 16GB model would be available for $499, but IntoMobile suggests that the price could be lower.
The Apple iPad 2 starts at $499, but Asus has priced the Eee Pad Transformer at just under $400, which could make it tough to market a 10 inch Android tablet with similar specs for a hundred dollars more.
