More details on Intel’s upcoming Cedar Trail platform for low power Atom chips are emerging. Fudzilla reports that the Intel Atom N2600 processor will be a 32nm 1.6 GHz dual core processor with a TDP of 3.5 watts.

Like most Atom chips, the N2600 will reportedly support hyperthreading, which means that the dual core processor will be able to handle four threads. The chip will have a 400 MHz Intel GMA 5600 graphics core and support for DDR3 800 MHz memory.

Fudzilla says the Intel Atom N2600 will be available in the fourth quarter of 2011.

We’d already heard that Intel will offer a somewhat more powerful Cedarview chip called the Intel Atom N2800. That chip will be a 1.86 GHz dual core processor with GMA 5650 graphics running at 640 MHz and support for DDR3 1066 MHz memory. The N2800 will reportedly have a TDP of 6.5W.

While Fudzilla reports that the Atom N2800 will support up to 4GB of memory, the Atom N2600 will top out at 2GB. Computers with the Intel Atom N2600 chip will likely ship with Windows 7 Starter, Chrome OS, or MeeGo Linux.

Intel is also expected to launch new desktop Atom chips called the D2500 and D2700 later this year, with clock speeds as high as 2.13 GHz.
