The Asus Eee PC 1025 line of netbooks feature Intel Atom Cedarview chips, a webcam with 4x zoom, and a choice of 3 or 6 cell batteries. They’re also the first 10 inch Asus netbooks I’ve seen in about a year that feature a new case design.
Asus introduced the next-generation netbooks at an event in Taiwan this today, and Notebook Italia snapped a few pictures of the Asus Eee PC 1025C and 1025CE from angles that weren’t presented in the press photos I received.
It looks like the palm rest area is now raised a little higher than the keyboard, while the notebook appears to have a touchpad that almost sits flush with the palm rest. The keyboard layout doesn’t appear to have changed very much, and there are still two buttons above the keyboard, indicating that the netbooks will continue to have some form of Asus ExpressGate software. You press one power button to boot Windows and the other to load ExpressGate.
The Asus Eee PC 1025CE will be available in pink, blue or purple, while the 1025C will come in black, white, gray, pink, brown, red or blue. It’s not clear what other differences there are between the two netbooks, but I suspect that there may be different battery and processor options for each model.
The photos show a black laptop with metallic edges, a matte lid, and a glossy display. You can find more pictures at Notebook Italia.
