The Asus Eee PC X101 isn’t the only netbook Asus is showing off at Computex this week. THe company has also unveiled the Eee PC 1025 Series, a line of next-generation 10 inch netbooks which will likely be powered by Intels’ upcoming Atom N2600 and N2800 chips.
Asus says the new netbooks will feature Instant On technology allowing you to resume from standby in two seconds and last up to two weeks on standby. Asus says you’ll get up to 14 hours of battery life “under ideal conditions,” which typically means you’ll need to disable WiFi and Bluetooth and dim the screen to come anywhere close. Still, we’ve seen Asus netbooks with 10 hour batteries in the past, so it’s certainly possible that the new netbooks could match or exceed that performance with Intel’s latest low power processors.
The Eee PC 1025 Series netbooks will feature HDMI output, a web camera with 4x zoom, and a new case design with a metallic finish. The netbooks will be available with 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and USB 3.0.
There’s no word on the launch date or pricing yet.
“Instant On technology allowing you to resume from standby in two weeks” now that is instant lol
That’s what I get for starting to write *before* drinking my morning coffee. It should have read “two seconds.” Thanks for pointing this out so I could fix it!
