For the last few years a web site called Macles has been one of the most reliable sources of leaked information about Acer Aspire One netbooks and related mini-laptops. The anonymous blogger behind the site has announced that it’s closing soon. The archives will remain online, but there will be no more posts. But Macles is going out on a high note, with outlines of Acer’s product plans for the rest of the year.

Here’s the run-down:

  • We already know that Acer will begin selling a Chrome OS laptop in June. Macles gives us the name. It will be called the Acer Cromia C700. The site also suggests that it might miss Google’s promised June 15th launch date by a week or two.
  • The next Acer Aspire One netbook will have a 1.86 GHz Intel Atom N2800 dual core processor. It will reportedly be called the Acer Aspire One AOD270.
  • There will be an Acer Aspire One Happy model based on the AOD270, with colorful lid options.
  • A new Acer Ferrari One model is due out this year, called the Ferrari One F0300 and it will have an AMD Fusion processor.

I guess we’ll find out how accurate those reports are in the coming months. Macles has generally been spot on… with the exception of a time or two when Acer may have changed its roadmap along the way.
