It looks like the upcoming Toshiba Android tablet may have a name… or at lest a model number. The folks at Laptoping noticed new listings for several tablet models at Newegg today with prices ranging for $450 to $580.

Toshiba first unveiled the tablet at CES in January, and then a pre-order page showed up at Amazon recently — but during all that time we haven’t seen a model number or a price tag.

Newegg is showing listings for a Toshiba ANT-100, ANT-102, and ANT-104, with 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB of memory respectively. They’ll run $450, $500 and $580

All three models have 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, and Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

One thing that sets the Toshiba tablet apart from most other Honeycomb tablets I’ve seen is a user replaceable battery. The tablet also has a rubberized back which makes the tablet easier to grip.

Update: The product pages have been removed from Newegg. It’s not yet clear if that’s because they were inaccurate or just early.

  1. I am too scared to buy Toshiba. I bought the Folio 100 and it was a screwed up machine. Cannot connect to marketplace and cannot upgrade to Android OS on it.

So much for Japanese quality and commitment.

    1. It can’t access market because google wasn’t giving market access out to tablets before honeycomb.(the galaxy tab barely made it because of phone parts)

It can upgrade in OS when the HC source code is released and NVidia releases the harmony drivers for HC(which they have gone on record saying the harmony/ventanna thing was a mix up and will support both).

The question begins on if Toshiba will push out that update to the Folio.

      1. thanks for the tip but it makes me wonder, why should I suffer with all this uncertainty and crap?

I might as well buy Apple or Windows, where there is stability, commitment, customer service etc.

Android is full of shit really. So you mean all thos 1.6, 2.1 and 2.2 customers have to wait like a dog for some update that they do not know when its coming?
