Sure, a leaked Samsung document suggested that the WiFi-only version of the company’s 7 inch Android tablet would set you back $399. But someone forgot to send the memo to the folks at Frys, because they’re taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Tab WiFi for $349.99.
There’s no ship date listed yet, but the tablet appears to be identical to the original Samsung Galaxy Tab in all respects but one: it doesn’t have a 3G modem.
The tablet features a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touchscreen display and runs Google Android 2.2 with full support for the Google Android Market. It has a 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird process, 16GB of storage, and front and rear cameras.
You can also get a 3G capable version of the tablet for under $300 if you’re willing to sign up for a 2-year contract from a major US wireless carrier. In fact, Sprint just lowered its price for the tablet to $199.99 on contract.
