Computers that can transform from laptops into tablets are nothing new. But the folks at Evolve Three have taken the usual approach of building a laptop with a swiveling display and turned it on its head. The company’s Maestro C tablet instead features a removable wireless keyboard a kick stand that folds out to reveal USB ports, audio jacks and other features while propping up the tablet for use in notebook (or rather, desktop) mode.

There’s also an optional magnetic cover with a removable keyboard and touchpad. The computer is designed to be used in tablet mode, but when you want to set it down on a table or desk to get some typing done, you can do that.

The Evolve Three Maestro C features a 10.1 inch capacitive multitouch display, an Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor, and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. It will be available with 2GB of DDR2 memory, up to 64GB of flash storage, 802.11n WiFi, HDMI, and a 1.3MP front-facing webcam. Bluetooth and 3G options will also be available.

Evolve Three says the tablet will have 10 hours or more of battery life.

Netbook News has a video of the Maestro C in action. You can check it out after the break.
