HTC has announced the European launch date for its upcoming 7 inch Flyer Tablet. The HTC Flyer will be available starting on May 9th and will likely run about £600, or a whopping $980 without a contract. The price will likely be much lower for customers who sign up for a wireless contract, and the tablet will probably be cheaper in the US as well.

The HTC Flyer features a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, but the Flyer also supports pressure-sensitive pen input for drawing, writing notes, or interacting with the screen in a more precise fashion.

The tablet has a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs Google Android 2.3 with a new version of HTC’s Sense software optimized for tablets.

The HTC Flyer features front and rear cameras, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G capabilities.
