Video game store GameStop has announced plans to offer a mobile tablet with a focus on gaming. The idea is that you’ll be able to download games to play on your tablet, or possibly stream game rentals over the internet.

The company hasn’t yet decided whether to offer an existing tablet or to work with an OEM to design its own GameStop tablet. It’s likely that whatever tablet the game seller offers will have some sort of Bluetooth controller, allowing you to play games with touchscreen controls or by using a physical keyboard.

Or the company could partner with Sony, which is already adding Playstation gaming capabilities to its upcoming tablets or a company such as OnLive which offers the ability to stream video games over the internet to a mobile tablet.
