Samsung Galaxy Tab (7 inch model)

Mobile World Congress starts next week and it’s a safe bet that we can expect a number of product announcements with a heavy focus on smartphones and mobile computers including tablets. So we won’t have long to wait to find out if Samsung is really going to introduce a new Android tablet on Sunday night, as Pocket-Lint suggests.

According to the web site, the new tablet will be larger but thinner than the current Samsung Galaxy Tab. It will reportedly have a 10.1 inch display but be lighter than the company’s existing 7 inch tablet.

The new model will apparently be designed to run Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb, which is hardly surprising, since that’s the version of Android that Google is pushing for tablets. It’s also what the LG G-Slate, Motorola XOOM, and many other Android tablets from top-tier companies are expected to run.

Pocket-Lint says the new Samsung tablet will have a dual-core Qualcomm chip and an 8MP camera.
