You know that shiny new tablet HP introduced yesterday? The first 10 inch tablet to run webOS? It’s also going to be the first tablet to ship with a new Qualcomm chip called the Snapdragon APQ8060.

Qualcomm officially announced the chip this morning. As you’d expect, it’s a low power ARM-based chip which should provide decent battery life in smartphones or tablets like the HP TouchPad. But this little guy packs a bit of punch.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 features a dual core CPU and an Adreno 220 graphics processor. It supports up to a 16MP camera and can record or display 1080p stereoscopic 3D video or 8MP stereoscopic still images. You can also display 3D video on an external display with an HDMI connection.
