While Notion Ink’s custom Eden software interface for the Adam table has been getting mixed reviews from early customers, it’s clear that the company put a lot of thought into designing apps for Android tablet, including a web browser, calculator, file browser and email app. A few days ago we reported that the folks at xda-dvelopers had figured out how to install the Notion Ink Adam firmware on the ViewSonic gTablet, a 10 inch Android tablet with similar hardware. Now there’s also a way to install individual apps from Eden without replacing the gTablet’s standard firmware.
So far, the apps include:
- Calculator – full screen calculator with scientific function keys
- Calendar – nice loking full screen calendar
- Canvas – app for drawing or painting
- Keyboard – Notion Ink’s keyboard app
- Mail’d – email app based on K-9
- QuickOffice – version of the QuickOffice suite for Android that’s been optimized for tablet displays
- Sniffer – file browser and app launcher that provides detailed information about your device
- Web browser – Notion Ink’s custom web browser (which will replace the stock Android web browser)
The apps are available for download from the xda-developers forum.
Update: It looks like the apps should work on other Android tablets as well. My Tablet Life has confirmed they work with the Archos 101.

And why would anyone want to do that? 🙂
(I recently bought, and returned, two of the G Tablets. As I relate here (https://www.facebook.com/note.php?created&¬e_id=499276212282 — can non-FB users read that? I’m not sure), I would consider a 3d one, if I find a cheap refurb, or through Craigslist, etc, but certainly not to do anything but immediately rip off that pointless, embarrassing are-they-serious?! pustule of an interface they have grafted on to Android.

Notion ink is in a big trouble. They are have money problems. Greg their biggest supporter is no where to be heard of .After he got his Adam he had promised to make a video of his adam but he doesn’t respond to inquires on his blog http://www.notioninkfan.com. He has a left a Rabid Fan by the name of NiShit who comments on his blog and bites everyone who tries to show concern about notion ink. He is really Ni-Shit ( Ni=Notion ink + Shit).
