HTC introduced a tablet and five new smartphones today, including two which feature heavy Facebook integration. But you know what HTC didn’t announce? Any products with dual core processors.
While the HTC Flyer Tablet has a speedy 1.5 GHz processor, it uses a single core chip instead of one of those new dual core chips from Qualcomm, NVIDIA, or Texas Instruments that are all the rage with tablet and smartphone makers.
But Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs announced this morning that HTC and Qualcomm are working together on multi-core products.
Yesterday Qualcomm announced plans to develop single, dual, and quad-core chips with clock speeds as high as 2.5 GHz. But it will likely be a while before those products make it to market.
