This could all just be a misunderstanding, but the folks behind the Facebook page for the Grand Rapids Best Buy store posted a list of release dates for upcoming gadgets… including the Motorola XOOM which showed a February 24th release date. That’s despite the fact that Motorola hasn’t announced an official launch date for the first tablet expected to ship with Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb, although the company has hinted that it’s due out this month.
Last night the Facebook page showed release dates for the iPhone 4, HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Presto Hotspot, and the Motorola XOOM Tablet. This morning the XOOM had been removed from the list, but the folks at Droid-Life snagged a screenshot of the page before it was amended.
Of course, it’s possible that the Grand Rapids Best Buy doesn’t have any more information than you do about the launch date and this could have been an estimate, which would be a good reason to remove it. But it’s also possible someone just posted a confirmed launch date without checking to see if the information was supposed to be public first.
At this point it looks like Google's next-gen, mid-range smartphone may not be unveiled until July, and the latest …
