Acer unveiled a 10 inch Android tablet at CES last month, but now the company is tripling down. At Mobile World Congress Acer is showing off three tablets: the Acer Iconia Tab A500 we already knew about, lus a 7 inch model called the Iconia Tab A100 and a 10 inch Windows tablet called the Iconia Tab W500.
The A100 and A500 tablets are both powered by 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor. The 7 inch A100 will have 512MB of RAM and 8GB of storage, while the 10.1 inch A500 will have 1GB of RAM and 16GB to 32GB of storage. Both will run Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
We’d been hearing rumors that Acer would launch a 7 inch tablet with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, but it sounds like the processor has been replaced with a Tegra 2 processor.
Both Android tablets are due out in April.
The Acer Iconia Tab W500 features a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display and a dual core AMD C-50 Ontario processor and AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics. It runs Windows 7 and supports up to 2GB of RAM and a 32GB solid state disk.
Acer will also provide a full sized keyboard docking station for the W500, allowing you to use the Windows tablet like a portable notebook.
