Corning’s Gorilla Glass has gotten a lot of attention lately for its scratch and crack-resistant glass technology. Tablets including the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Dell Streak use Gorilla Glass screens, and overall the technology makes a lot of sense for touch-sensitive devices such as smartphones and tablets since the screens are far more exposed to danger than screens on laptops, televisions, or other devices. But Gorilla Glass isn’t the ony game in town.

Today AGC announced it will begin selling Dragontrail glass which can be chemically strengthened to be “six times stronger than conventional soda-lime glass.” It’s also scratch resistant, while remaining free of arsenic, lead, antimony, and other toxic chemicals.

AGC says Dragontrail glass is particularly well-suited for touchscreen LCD displays. It will be available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses, ranging from 0.5mm to 5mm.
