Giada has made a name for itself by cranking out super-slim nettops with low power Intel Atom processors over the past few years. Now the company has introduced a souped up model called the Giada D2301 with a choice of an Intel Core i3, Core i5, or Core i7 CPU.

The small form factor desktop also comes with second generation NVIDIA ION graphics, a slot-loading disc drive (with DVD and Blu-Ray options, and USB 3.0 support. There’s also a digital TV tuner option.

The D2301 supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth and has 2 RAM slots, a 2.5 inch hard drive by, and a decent aray of ports including DVI, HDMI, and SPDIF ports, a flash card reader, an eSATA port, 4 USB 2.0 ports and a single USB 3.0 port.

The computer measures 9.1″ x 6.9″ x 2.2″. That makes the computer a bit bulkier than some of Giada’s other models, but you get a lot more power in that small package.

Unfortunately there’s no word on pricing or availability.

  1. It will be interesting to see how the ION performs in a system without either the ATOM or PCI 1x limitations…
