It’s steady as she goes for Acer, with the Aspire One 522 stepping out from the shadows in the shell they first introduced with the AOD255. The 522 will run AMD’s Fusion platform, featuring the company’s C-50 APU with dual 1GHz cores (which sip a scant 9W total) and integrated Radeon 6250 graphics with full DX11 support and UVD3 for better hardware-accelerated video. The unit’s battery is listed as providing an estimated 6 hours of runtime.

The 522 also features a 10.1″ 1280×720 pixel display, HDMI and VGA out, three USB ports, webcam, and a multi-format card reader. According to one source, the rest of the 522’s hardware will mirror that of the 255. Take the jump to get a look at the Aspire One 522 from additional angles!

  1. ‘Acer Aspire One 522 features AMD Ontario C-50, Radeon 6250 graphics’

When we say it has a 1280×720 screen do we really mean to imply that it is 720p compliant, and has in fact got a 1366×768 screen?

I would be disappointed if it has a vertical resolution of less than 768 because many games and apps simply do not run well on less.

    1. It’s not more of the same though, this is akin to news of the 532g, 521, or asus 1015pn, a top-end 10″ netbook. It should perform quite better than 98% of the other netbooks out there. Dual-core, dedicated graphics, etc. There are only a couple other netbooks out there right now capable of decent gaming, mainly the ones with decent GPUs and dedicated VRAM.
