ViewSonic ViewPad 10

ViewSonic has been showing off a range of 7 and 10 inch tablet computers for the past few months. Now the company has officially announced plans to offer two of those devices in the US.

ViewSonic ViewPad 7

The ViewPad 7 is an Android tablet with a 7 inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen display that runs Android 2.2. It has a 3.5G mobile broadband capabilities, as well as 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth. The tablet has a rear-facing 3MP auto-focusing camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 7 has 512MB of storage plus a micro SD card slot for expansion. ViewSonic promises up to 10 hours of battery life.

The 7 inch tablet will have a MSRP for $479 and it’s due out before the end of the year.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10

The 10 inch model takes a different approach and lets you dual boot Windows 7 Home Premium and Google Android 1.6. The ViewPad 10 has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 16GB solid state disk, and micro SD card slot. It has a 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive, multitouch display, a G-sensor, and a 1.3MP camera.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 10 will be available early next year for $629 or so.

Of course, if you can’t wait that long, you can just pick up a Tega v2 tablet or Novatech nTablet. All three tablets appear to be based on the same reference design and all three can dual boot Windows 7 and Google Android.
