The watchful eyes over at Wireless Goodness have spotted a new device from Sharp which has surfaced on the FCC website. Referred to as a “Media Tablet,” there’s not too much known about the device at this point — apart from the model number EB-EX1GJ and that it may feature an 800MHz processor and 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity.
There’s also a headphone jack (go figure), and there’s a decent chance if could run Android since Sharp is building a smartphone running Google’s OS at the moment.
As for the other juicy details like what kind of display it will run, battery capacity, RAM, or internal storage… we’ll just have to wait and see.
Update: Peter from Netbook News reminds us that Sharp recently unveiled new Android powered eBook readers with multimedia capabilities. There’s a good chance what we’re looking at here is a drawing of the back of a Sharp Galapagos device.
