Intel’s Pepcom booth tour

11/20/2010 at 7:24 AM by Brad Linder 1 Comment

Intel is showing off a number of products built around various Atom chips. I got a chance to check out the company’s booth at a Pepcom event in New York this week, including a few we’ve seen before such as the company’s Canoe Lake ultrathin netbook reference design, a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3T convertible netbook, and a few tablets including the ExoPC, WePad, and OpenPeak.

One thing I hadn’t seen before was the company’s proof of concept for a home automation controller, which features a pretty powerful Windows-based user interface.

While Canoe Lake was first introduced this summer, Intel says that there should be companies showing off actual products based on the design at CES in January.

The WeTab which was on display isn’t necessarily coming to the US market anytime soon, but Intel had it at the booth to highlight both the Atom N450-based tablet hardware and also the customized MeeGo Linux operating system. Intel is one of the primary backers of the operating system.

You can check it all out in my booth tour video after the break.
