Asus has quietly launched the Eee PC 1015T netbook. This model features a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.2GHz single core AMD V105 CPU, and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. It’s available from B&H for $349.99.

The AMD V105 chip is based on AMD’s Nile platform, and while I haven’t tested a computer with the V105 processor yet, I’ve been very impressed with the computers I’ve reviewed with AMD K125 Nile chips, including the Acer Aspire One 521 and the Dell Inspiron M101z.

The ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics are also comparable to NVIDIA ION graphics, offering 1080p HD video playback, HDMI output, and 3D graphics acceleration. That makes the Eee PC 1015T look like a decent alternative to the $430 Eee PC 1015PN — although you don’t get a dual core processor with the 1015T.

  1. If it has a lower price, I would not mind it not have a dual core processor. I like supporting AMD since it supports competition; which encourages improvements while keeping costs down.

  2. Soooo… it’s the same as the Acer 521 spec- and price-wise? It’s just their own version I guess.
