Sometimes companies make big announcements with news conferences, press releases, and TV commercials when they launch new products. Sometimes they don’t bother to tell anybody. Acer is taking the latter approach with the launch of the Acer Aspire 1430, a new 11.6 inch thin and light laptop which was pretty much flying under the radar until Peter at Netbook News noticed it hanging out on the Acer web site.
The Acer Aspire 1430 has a 1GHz Intel Core i5-520UM processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 320GB, 5400RPM hard drive, and an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium, has a 5-in-1 card reader, integrated graphics, VGA and HDMI output, and a 6 cell, 4400mAh battery.
The laptop measures 11.2″ x 8″ x 1.1″ and weighs 3.1 pounds.
