The Toshiba AC100 is a mini-laptop with an NVIDIA Tegra chipset, 3G modem, and Google Android operating system. Right now it ships with Android 2.1. That is, it ships with Android 2.1 in the very small number of countries where it does ship, including Japan and the UK. But Carrypad reports Toshiba is preparing to offer an update in about 6 weeks that will let users install Android 2.2 Froyo on the smartbook.
Toshiba is also expected to launch the Folio 100 tablet with Froyo preloaded. The hardware for the Folio 100 and the Ac100 smartbook are very similar. The main difference is that the AC100 has a keyboard while the Folio 100 has a touchscreen.
There’s still no word on if or when we’ll see either device in the US.
Just Heard The 2.2 update + 10.1 flash was launched today. Can anyone confirm that?
Hmm, our local Toshiba dealers confirm they have Folio 100 in stock with Froyo (though still with no Flash support). So Toshiba has the 2.2 for the hardware…
The Goooood News!: YES Froyo has been launched through Service Station
The bad news: “Parse Error”
