Entourage and Verizon plan to offer a dual-display device for reading eBooks, surfing the web, and running Android apps son. The Entourage Pocket Edge is a smaller version of the original eDGe tablet that’s been making the rounds since late last year. While the original had two 10 inch displays (or rather, a 9.7 inch E Ink screen and a 10.1 inch color LCD, the Pocket Edge has a 6 inch E Ink touchscreen and a 7 inch LCD touchscreen.
The folks at The Digital Reader got to spend a few minutes with the new device, and they note that the LCD has an 800 x 480 pixel display resolution and that the camera has been moved to the E Ink side.
The Pocket Edge has the same low power Marvell CPU as the bigger model, but has just 1 USB port.
Entourage is developing two models, one with WiFi and the other with 3G mobile broadband. The 3G model will be available on Verizon’s network. Both models are due out in late October.

Bought the WiFi one from HSN – didn’t work – had to return it. I thought the price of $399 was decent but since I couldn’t even get it to set up properly, it’s moot. Have no idea if it works well or not.
This seems like it would be tailor made for use with textbooks. If Barnes &Noble were able to adapt this for their NookStudy program, I woudl have loved tho have had something like this as a college student.
It is really nice looking and good features for what it does. I think the deal breaker would be the price. IMO; if it is too high, it might not sell well.
