The Inspiron Mini 1018 is a new budget netbook from Dell. It has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 160GB hard drive and runs Windows 7 Starter Edition. But unlike the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012, this model will not be available with a high resolution display, Broadcom video accelerator, or other premium features.

That probably explains why the Inspiron Mini 1018, which recently went on sale in the US, costs $299.99 and up while the Mini 1012 runs $319.99 and up. The Mini 1012 also comes standard with a 6 cell, 56Whr battery while the cheaper Mini 1018 comes with a choice of a 3 cell, 24Whr battery or a 6 cell, 48Whr battery.
