That certainly didn’t take long. Intel announced that its Atom N550 dual core processors are now available and a few major PC makers announce plans to bring new models to market. Meanwhile, a Chinese company is already taking orders for its 11.6 inch ultraportable laptop powered by an Atom N550 chip.
The TimesPad laptop is actually available with a choice of a single core Atom N455 or N475 CPU or a dual core Atom N550 chip. It also features NVIDIA ION graphics, an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI output, and a battery which is described as a 12000mAh battery.
I have a feeling something might have been lost in translation though, since that sounds like an awfully high capacity battery to me.
The laptop measures 290 x 203 x 28 and weighs 1.7. Alibaba is taking orders for between $325 and $365, but there’s a catch: That’s the price for distributors. The minimum order quantity is 500 units.
