While virtually every electronics maker known to man seems to have a tablet on display at Computex this week, there’s one major player that’s been kind of quiet… up until now. We’ve been hearing rumors that Samsung would launch a new tablet for a while, and now the folks at the official Samsung South Africa blog have posted a picture of what looks like a 7 inch Samsung tablet, called the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
There are no additional details about the tablet, but it appears to be running Google Android with the same tweaked user interface as the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.
Meanwhile, Korea Herald is reporting that Samsung isn’t just working on one new tablet, but three. The site reports that Samsung will introduce a 7 inch Android-based sPad tablet in Korea in August. This may be the same machine you’re looking at in the photo above.
Then in October, Samsung will reportedly launch an 8 inch tablet, followed by a 10 inch version in December. All three tablets will reportedly feature 3G connectivity and will be available through SK Telecom in Korea.
There’s no word on how much the tablets will cost or if and when they’ll be available outside of Samsung’s home country of Korea. But the fact that Samsung’s South African blog posted the picture of the Galaxy Tab gives us reason to hope for an international launch.
Update: It looks like Samsung South Africa might have jumped the gun on this one. GottaBeMobile noticed that the photo has been removed (although you can still see it here).

I liked my first gen Samsung netbook, so I’ll keep my eye on the 10″.
