A few days ago Asus introduced the world to its new line of tablet-style devices, including a 12.1 inch Eee Pad running Windows 7 and a 10.1 inch Eee Pad running Windows Embedded Compact 7. But our friends at Carrypad and jkkmobile spotted yet another tablet design from Asus today.
There aren’t many details to go by, but it looks like this tablet, which was labeled an EPAD, has a 10 or 12 inch display and runs Windows 7.
The design is similar to the 12 inch Eee Pad EP121, but this model has a 10 inch screen and there are some subtle differences in the design… and more importantly, the EPAD seems to be a fully functional device, while the Eee Pad tablets Asus was showing off at its press conference on Monday weren’t quite ready for prime time yet.
Carrypad reports that the EPAD was just a prototype and speculates that this may have been something the company was working on before settling on the Eee Pad models that were introduced this week. In other words, it may never come to market.
You can check out a few videos after the break. There’s some overlap, because the two videos were recorded pretty much at the same time — but from different angles.
