Acer is expected to launch a new line of 11.6 inch Acer Aspire 1830 laptops in the next few months. Blogeee has the skinny on two models, the Aspire 1830T and 1830Z, which will both sell for about 599 Euros ($725) in France. The 1830Z will ship with a Pentium U5400 dual core chip, while the 1830T model will have a dual core Intel Core i3-330UM processor. But if you’re looking for a new thin and light laptop from Acer with a core i-series chip you don’t have to wait.
SuperBiiz is already offering an Acer TravelMate TM8172 notebook for $579 (with coupon code PAPA30). The Acer TM8172 may not be part of the consumer-oriented Aspire line, but the laptop does feature an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, a 1.2GHz Core i3-330UM low voltage processor, 2G of RAM, a 250Gb hard drive, and Windows 7 Professional. It seems like a pretty good option for someone in the market for a thin and light laptop with a Core i-series processor. The laptop weighs just under 3 pounds.
I mentioned the Acer Travelmate TM8172 in my daily deals roundup yesterday, but figured it was worth taking a second look at, since it’s available today while the Acer Aspire 1830T and 1830Z aren’t shipping yet.
Netbooked spottted a YouTube video featuring the laptop, which you can check out after the break.
How would i3 11 inch Acer you mention that available now perform against the 1819TZ? I wonder whether any improvement on processor power would be compensated by the improved ram – at least on some models. Mine has 4gb.
Whoops, that’s 1810TZ, obviously. Stupid typo.
The matte finish is good, but the lack of HDMI not..
